Maternitat de Thiobon

La localitat de Thiobon compta amb un recinte sanitari en el que es recullen diferents serveis, un dels quals es la Maternitat que ofereix unes condicions deficients per a les usuàries. Sovint les mares s’havien de a l’hospital més proper per tal d’assegurar-se d’una atenció sanitària en millors condicions. L’alternativa era donar llum a casa, sense cap acompanyament mèdic, amb tots els riscos que això comporta per les mares i els nadons. La nova maternitat substitueix l’antiga i es situa al mateix recinte.

La idea del projecte consisteix en la creació d’un espai tancat en sí mateix, amb un pati central. Això permet a les mares estar a l’aire lliure en un ambient íntim, afavorint les costums i relacions socials que es generen a l’entorn de la maternitat.

El programa, en forma de U, s’organitza al voltant del pati i genera unes circulacions porxades. Consta d’una consulta, una sala de pre-part, una de part i una de post-part, articulades mitjançant els blocs de serveis.

Intentant recuperar i mantenir els materials de construcció locals es planteja l’us de la terra per treballar els tancaments de l’edifici. No obstant, per dificultats del context en que ens hem trobat aquest any, es planteja estructura metàl•lica en coberta i acabat de xapa; sent que aquesta és de tipologia ventilada.

La nova maternitat acollirà mensualment aproximadament 10 mares residents al poble de Thiobon.
Havent-se convertit en la maternitat de referència de la zona.

The town of Thiobon has a health center in which different services are collected, one of which is Maternity that offers poor conditions for users. Often the mothers were in the nearest hospital in order to ensure healthcare in better conditions. The alternative was to give birth to home, without any medical help, with all the risks that this entails for mothers and babies. The new maternity replaces the old one and is located in the same enclosure.

The idea of ​​the project consists in the creation of a closed space in itself, with a central patio. This allows mothers to be outdoors in an intimate setting, favoring the customs and social relationships that are generated in the area of ​​motherhood.

The U-shaped program is organized around the patio and generates some covered circuits. It consists of a consultation, a room of pre-part, one of part and one of post-part, articulated by means of the services blocks.

Trying to recover and maintain local building materials arises from the use of land to work on the building’s enclosures. However, due to the difficulties in the context in which we have met this year, metallic structure is covered in cover and veneer finish; Feeling that this is of a ventilated typology.

The new maternity will host approximately 10 resident mothers monthly in the town of Thiobon.
